Make your façade water-repellent and extend the lifespan of your cladding
Protect your façade against moisture and pollution
Prevention of algae and moss growth
Over time, the façade can become more sensitive and porous, for example due to weather conditions, the orientation of the façade and the materials used.
The more porous the façade, the greater the risk of moisture in the walls. If moisture remains in the wall and it freezes, this can cause cracks.
A hydrofuge treatment is a transparent, water-repellent coating that protects your façade against moisture, dirt and moss. It prevents water from penetrating the façade and protects against the harmful effects of frost and moisture build-up.
With a hydrofuge, the façade remains water-repellent yet vapour-permeable, which means that rain does not penetrate the bricks while internal moisture can still escape. This prevents cracks and crumbling of the façade.

Benefits
- Water-repellent and vapour-permeable: It prevents new moisture problems thanks to its water-repellent effect, while the façade remains vapour-permeable so moisture can still evaporate outside.
- Reduces moss and algae growth: The façade stays clean longer due to the hydrofuge layer.
- Protects against frost damage: It prevents moisture from expanding in winter and causing cracks.
- Extends the lifespan of your façade: Overall, there is less risk of cracks and crumbling, and the façade also stays beautiful longer with less maintenance required.
Working method
How does hydrofuge work?
- Preparation – The façade must be thoroughly cleaned (softwash or steam cleaning).
- Application of the hydrofuge – The liquid is applied deep into the pores of the façade and leaves a water-repellent layer. This prevents moisture from penetrating the wall and reduces dirt build-up.
- Drying and curing – After a few hours, an invisible water-repellent layer forms.
💡 Note: after a hydrofuge treatment, the façade can no longer be painted. The treatment must be repeated every 10 years for optimal protection.
HYDROFUGE
When to choose hydrofuge?
💧 When the façades of your home are sensitive to moisture absorption:
Especially porous materials such as brick, natural stone and concrete. In this case, a hydrofuge is ideal to make the façades water-repellent.
🛡 As a prevention against algae and moss growth:
Perfect after façade cleaning, to keep dirt and staining away for longer.
