You could also insulate your roof yourself. Budget-wise, that might be the most attractive option. But do you really want to benefit from all the advantages of roof insulation? More comfort throughout your home, a lower energy bill, and no worries about the execution? Then trust a professional for a proper installation. Like Cleys, expert in renovating building envelopes. Depending on your roof, we proceed as follows:
- Flat roof: we install the insulation and the new roofing from the outside on the existing roof.
- Pitched roof: we remove the existing roofing, insulate, and install new roofing.
We always insulate your roof from the outside. The work is always carried out in combination with finishing the roof. Such a complete roof renovation also includes renewing roof windows, gutters, downpipes, and similar elements. In addition, this way you are entitled to attractive government grants. Financial support for your roof insulation
Grant for having your roof insulated
Having your roof insulated is good for your comfort, your energy bill, and our planet. By keeping heat outside in summer and inside in winter, you help achieve climate targets. Your reward: financial support in the form of various grants.
The Flemish government provides the “Mijn VerbouwPremie” (My Renovation Grant) for roof renovation and insulation, allowing you to recover up to 40% of your total invoice depending on your income (2025). For energy renovations such as roof insulation, grid operator Fluvius still offers an EPC label grant until the end of 2024. You may also be entitled to additional support from your province or municipality.
Another nice bonus: if your home is at least 10 years old, you benefit from the reduced VAT rate of 6% on all material and labor costs. Discover all details about possible grants and loans for insulating your roof.

Surface area: the larger your roof, the higher the total cost, but the lower the unit price.
