Spray cork façade cladding
A beautiful, durable finish for your façade
With or without insulation
Spray cork is the façade finish that combines numerous sustainable properties. Thanks to spray cork, your façade becomes wear-resistant, insulated, vapour-permeable, elastic, ecological, low-maintenance and waterproof. For this reason, in recent years spray cork has become one of the most popular façade claddings on the market. We apply it both directly onto the façade (on brick, concrete, wood, metal, natural stone, PVC...) and on façade plaster and façade insulation.

Advantages of spray cork
A beautiful and durable finish for your façade
In recent years, as a family business, we have increasingly focused on spray cork as a façade finish. It is not only an innovative and aesthetic solution but also a sustainable one. Spray cork provides insulation, protects your façade against (Belgian) weather conditions and is extremely low-maintenance.
Unlike other building materials, cork is waterproof, breathable and insulating. Moreover, it does not age. When used as façade cladding, it offers a durable and high-quality solution. Bonus point: we can easily apply spray cork onto your existing façade cladding.
Cork façade cladding
What is spray cork?
Spray cork is a façade cladding made from ground cork bark of biological origin, binder, oils and water. At Cleys, we work exclusively with the high-quality brand Corticyte. This cork comes from the bark of the Portuguese Quercus Suber, or cork oak. Combine this formula with an extensive colour chart and the options are (almost) endless. You can choose from 26 different colours, from Superwhite to very dark Ash.
Having spray cork applied
This is how our craftsmen apply your spray cork
Before applying your new cladding, we thoroughly clean your façade and repair any irregularities. Equipped with a spray gun and spraying machine, our craftsmen provide your façade with a new finish in no time. Large surfaces are tackled quickly and efficiently. After about 24 hours of drying, your new façade is completely dry.
The number of layers needed to apply the product with high quality depends on the grain size. We work with a fine standard grain of 0.7 to 1 millimetre. For this, at least 3 layers are required. With a coarser grain, 2 layers may be sufficient.

Cost of sprayed cork
The cost of spray cork is calculated per square meter. This price depends on several factors: the number of layers, the thickness of the layers, the type of grain, the chosen color, and the complexity of the facade (ranging from a Spanish villa to a sleek modern block). After this investment, expect a significant drop in your energy bill and get ready for a monthly joy dance.
You may be eligible for the “Mijn VerbouwPremie” when having spray cork installed. Note, this grant only applies to retrofitting your home with external wall insulation, not for using spray cork purely as an aesthetic finish. The financial support can cover up to 50% of the total investment. Learn everything about grants and loans.

Advantages of spray cork
When something is very dry, it’s not called “as dry as cork” for nothing. So if you are looking for an aesthetic and eco-friendly façade cladding, spray cork is your hero. This material is waterproof and can withstand March showers, April whims, and all other rainfall throughout the year. Moreover, cork is naturally very elastic. It moves with the substrate, minimizing the chance of cracks.
By choosing cork, you are making a choice for sustainability. Unlike other materials, such as wood, the cork oak is not cut down, only the bark is harvested. Cork is a 100 % natural material and is also biodegradable.
Not in the mood for major renovation work? No problem. We apply spray cork not only on insulation or façade plaster, but also effortlessly on existing façades. Even for the not-so-handy among us, spray cork is a great choice. The protective layer requires very little maintenance—you can easily clean it with a garden hose. Handy, right?
In the long run, using cork as a façade cladding improves insulation and reduces energy consumption by an average of 30 %. But cork doesn’t just provide economic benefits. Your surroundings benefit too. Thanks to its acoustic insulation, the neighbors won’t be disturbed by your daughter’s loud drum lessons. And it’s not just private homeowners who enjoy these benefits—restaurant owners, shopkeepers, and CEOs also gain from cork’s insulating properties.
Drawbacks of spray cork for façades
Are there any downsides to using spray cork on your façade?
Nobody’s perfect, not even spray cork. Keep in mind that this coating insulates slightly less compared to other solutions like crepi combined with façade insulation. The color options are also more limited, and although it is a practical solution, this layer cannot be applied to every façade.
